Demons & Possession Real or Fake.

Let me first start off by saying this is gonna be right off the cuff. So I’m still reading the Bible in the year for the first time and I stumbled across a few things that might of convicted me. I’m not sure if that’s the term I should use but it’s the term I’m using.

Let me start out by saying for a long time I have always said when watching scary movies Im only truly scared when it something that is true, such as serial killers, helter skelter, psychos and stuff like that. I’ve never believe in demons or possession of a human body so those movies don’t truly scare me.

Now you see where I’m convicted because the Bible clearly speaks about demons and possession.

Now deep diving into this there are a few different views of the question are demons and human possession real. These are not in a specific order.

1st Demons and human possession is definitely real. Clear as day the Bible speaks about it therefore 100% facts. Still happening today across the world.

2nd The term demons and human possession that is used in the Bible are terms used because they didn’t have the knowledge we have today to diagnose it as a medical condition.

Now there is one more it’s goes along with the first. They are 100% real but they evolved. They know the second they start possessing people, we turn to Jesus. We know the cure/answer. So they changed tactics. They now stand in the background and talk to you. Put things in your head and get you to commit sins to ruin your life and try to destroy your faith.

Now those are the three views that I found. Feel free to reach out if you have any thoughts on this my email is in the contact section of my blog.

So let’s go to the Bible and see what God has given us in His word. Once again no specific order. Just trying to remember what I have read, and yes I’ll miss a lot so please forgive me, also I won’t cover the entire stories if you need closure please read the Bible.

In Mark 9:17-18“And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”

See in Mark here you can kind of get behind a medical theory that they were unable to diagnose back in the day.

In Mathew 8 28:34, Mark 5 1:20, Luke 8 26-39 we read the story of Jesus Heals see Men With Demons. I’m gonna clip verses since it’s a long one and I want to give opinions on things.

“And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Right here Jesus was traveling a lot during this time he was making his way around the Sea of Galilee crossing it many times. It doesn’t say if Jesus knew these men or if they had ever heard of him or ministry. However So here it mentions that he arrived and these men called him the Son of God. So my belief is the demons also know as “The Legion” as mentioned in Luke 8:30, felt his presence and spiritual power.

So in this story a medical condition can be ruled out. A medical condition would have no way to recognize the power of Jesus and call him the Son of God without ever meeting him prior.

So this is only two stories. I don’t want to make this too long. I guess you can see the sides of it. Here is my side of my walk through this thought.

Since my deep dive I now believe in the 3rd option. We see it in the news a lot where people hear voices that convince them to do unspeakable things. Demons do exist they just changed tactics. They still do possess people but it happens more in third world countries and remote areas.

Still can happen here locally but luckily for me and many of my friends we have the Holy Spirit in us so we cannot be possessed. Our bodies are already occupied. Acts 2:38 “And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

So in closing as my Christian Walk grows I learn more and beliefs change especially from my prior life. Now that I’m trying to be all in, my life is changing my views are changing reading and studying the Bible is life changing. This journey is amazing and I hope others can join me.
